Gadiatex traces its origins to 1971, when Mr. Omprakash Gadia came to Mumbai to join the larger family group business of Aadat. During this period, he gained deep, hands-on exposure to textile trading, supplier dynamics, and buyer expectations-experience that would later shape his entrepreneurial vision. Building on this foundation, he went on to establish Gadiatex with a clear objective: to make fabric sourcing more reliable, transparent, and efficient for buyers. What began as a focused trading and sourcing operation gradually evolved into a trusted fabric sourcing partner for manufacturers, exporters, and brands across India.
In the early years, the business concentrated on building deep relationships with fabric manufacturers and understanding the nuances of textile quality, pricing, and availability. This hands-on market experience laid the foundation for what Gadiatex would become-an organization driven by market intelligence, supplier strength, and long-term relationships rather than transactional trading.
As India’s textile industry expanded and diversified, Gadiatex grew alongside it. The company steadily widened its product portfolio beyond core woven fabrics to include shirting, suiting, uniform fabrics, sarees, dress materials, cut-pack programs, home textiles, and specialized textile categories. Each expansion was guided by customer demand and a clear understanding of where reliable manufacturing capacity existed.
To strengthen sourcing depth and market access, the Group expanded its physical presence beyond Mumbai. Offices were established in Ahmedabad and Surat, two of India’s most important textile manufacturing and trading hubs. This three-city presence-Mumbai (financial and commercial centre), Ahmedabad (manufacturing and trading hub), and Surat (synthetics, sarees, and high-volume textile markets)-allowed Gadiatex to cover virtually every major textile product category and sourcing region in the country.
